Well scientist chose pigs rather than primates because of endangered primates, thought that pigs are easier to control viral infections, and because they are already exploited for science. However many of these genetically modified pigs are cloned using other pigs. Organizations such as PETA were outraged to hear that animals was being abused and tortured for bad science. PETA sent an investigator to a British facility and found "A pig's heart was attached to the arteries in the pig's neck while researchers observed the heart swell to an abnormal size, and the other animals retreated in to themselves, lying in their cages until put of the misery". This concern is why many reject the idea of xenotransplantation not just the fact that it has proven ineffective. Revivicor believed that the supply of organs is steadily decreasing because most people die to old age, cancer or heart disease, which makes the organs not useable. Meanwhile PETA believes that people should become organ donors. Also PETA recommend patients a long term survival if they receive an organ last minute than an organ from a tortured animal
