Ask anyone what they think of pigs as an organ donor. More than likely they would say impossible, but now scientists believe that within the next decade they will be able to put pigs as the primary donor for any organ even heart. The reality of this is just stunning but very real.  Most people do not quiet realize how similar pigs anatomy is to human anatomy. This new type of surgery is known as "xenotransplantation", which has taken rejection by many people. However many people support the idea due to the high demand but low supply. The first to develop such an idea was England six years ago.

Revivicor is a bio company that is top in xenotransplantation and also tries to cure human diseases by replacing cells, tissues and organs. Revivicor top experiments have been with xenograft and tolerance technology.  Revivicor was born due to break-up of PPL.

How realistic is the idea that pigs may eventually make up the void in organs needed for transplants in humans? Will genetically modifying the pig by inducing tolerance in patients be enough to make the grafts possible, or will such challenges prove to be insurmountable?
